Nepal men’s cricket team are set to host Oman and United Arab Emirates in a tri-nation contest across six matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, starting from April 25.
The series was originally scheduled to begin on March 10 but was postponed. It will now get underway on April 25, with all matches set to be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Following the conclusion of these fixtures, Nepal will also host Scotland and USA in another League 2 series starting May 12.
League 2 serves as a crucial qualification pathway for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be hosted in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The competition provides teams a chance to secure one of four spots available through the qualification process. The top four teams from the eight-team League 2 standings will advance to the Cricket World Cup Qualifier, where the final four teams will earn their place in the marquee tournament.
Nepal are heading into the matches on the back of their first win at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 12 years.
