’80s rock icon Corey Glover announced a two-show series in New York City Tuesday evening. The shows will be held at City Vineyard at Pier 26, and will feature a soulful, unplugged set.
Glover began his music career in 1985 as the lead vocalist of the legendary band Living Colour. He is known for his powerful, soulful sound, and went on to achieve multiple awards with the band, in addition to pursuing a successful solo career.
In 1988, Living Colour released their debut album Vivid. Within a year, it garnered significant global attention, earning platinum status and a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. The band continued releasing music and touring throughout the early 1990s, solidifying their influence and inspiring genres with their diverse style, which merged funk, jazz, soul and hard rock.
In mid-1990, the band split, and Glover began focusing on a solo career. In 1998, he released his debut solo album, Hymns, a collection of songs blending gospel, rock and soul elements. Throughout his solo career, he hopped between various projects, collaborating with different artists and experimenting across genres, further defining himself as a versatile performer. In 2025, Glover was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for his work with Living Colour.
Glover announced the upcoming shows on his Instagram, where his fans left excited comments. He will be performing on January 28 and February 18.
Living Colour has announced that a new album is on the way, and expected in spring 2026, marking their first release in nine years.
