A popular hard rock band has replaced its guitarist with a musician who has a decades-long connection.
All That Remains announced that Ken Susi, best known for playing guitar with Unearth and As I Lay Dying, will join the band on its 2026 tour dates. The tour’s first concert will be April 29 at Empire Live in Albany; tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.
Susi takes the spot of Jason Richardson, who left All That Remains in July after spending 7 years in the lineup. Richardson joined the band in 2018 after the death of co-founding lead guitarist Oliver “Oli” Herbert.
“I’m incredibly honored to be joining All That Remains as their new guitarist,” Susi said in a statement. “My connection to this band goes back to the late ’90s, when I first met Mike, Oli and Phil at underground shows in Western Massachusetts. Those early days shaped so much of who I am, and coming back together now truly feels full circle.”
Singer Philip Labonte co-founded All That Remains with Herbert in 1998 after the vocalist previously performed with Shadows Fall. Rhythm guitarist Mike Martin joined All That Remains shortly after the band recorded its 2002 debut album, “Behind Silence and Solitude.”
“I’m also deeply honored to step in for my late friend Oli Herbert. Oli was not only an extraordinary musician, but a close friend whose presence and influence will always be felt. His shoes can never truly be filled, and I carry his spirit with me every time I pick up the guitar,” Susi said. “After decades of friendship, shared history, and mutual support, it means everything to get on stage with this band and contribute to a project I genuinely believe in. I can’t wait to hit the road and share what we’ve been working on with all of you. See you out there.”
All That Remains is a hard rock band known for its mix of melodic metalcore and heavy metal on songs like “Two Weeks,” “What If I was Nothing,” “This Calling,” “The Air That I Breathe” and “Six.” Their 10th studio album, “AntiFragile,” was released last year.
Labonte is the only original member still in the group. The current lineup includes Susi, Martin, bassist Matt Deis and drummer Anthony Barone.
Herbert was found dead at his Connecticut home in 2018. As of 2021, his death was considered suspicious and still had not been solved.
“There was no one that worked harder at guitar and music theory and music than Oli Herbert,” Labonte told WTNH in 2021.
