Chase Infiniti has been steadily climbing up Gold Derby’s Oscar charts for months, ever since Warner Bros. declared in early October that she would be campaigning in the Best Actress category, clearing out space in the Best Supporting Actress race for her costars Teyana Taylor and Regina Hall.
Now — just in time for the holidays — Infiniti has cracked our top five and is predicted to be an Oscar nominee for her first film role.
The breakout star from One Battle After Another currently has a 52 percent chance of receiving a nod, up 7 percent from last week and her highest ranking of the season. Her surge comes in the wake of her earning nominations at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.
Infiniti has knocked The Testament of Ann Lee’s Amanda Seyfried (41 percent) from the projected Best Actress lineup. Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley, who has been No. 1 since our predictions opened, is effectively tied with If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’s Rose Byrne (both at 90 percent), followed by Sentimental Value’s Renate Reinsve (89 percent), and Bugonia’s Emma Stone (67 percent).
