One of the benefits of being the year-end No. 1 is piling on the weeks at the top spot throughout the off-season, which is exactly what Carlos Alcaraz is currently doing.
And now, he hits a big milestone.
The Spaniard kicks off his 50th career week at No. 1 today, becoming just the 14th player to reach that milestone in ATP rankings history, which dates back to 1973.

Alcaraz’s 50 weeks at the top spot have come in six separate stints. The biggest was his first one—20 weeks between September 12th, 2022 and January 29th, 2023. He then had 16 more weeks across three smaller stints later in 2023, and now 14 more weeks in two more stints in 2025.

At 22, Alcaraz is actually the third-youngest player to reach 50 career weeks at No. 1 in ATP rankings history.
Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt holds the record, reaching that milestone at 21, and American Jim Courier was a slightly younger 22 than Alcaraz when he hit that number.
