2025 has been a great year for both Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton. The former finally silenced his critics with a potentially Oscar-worthy performance as Mark Kerr in the Benny Safdie-directed The Smashing Machine, whilst the latter debuted his second season of Landman, the hit neo-Western series from Taylor Sheridan that is tearing up the streaming charts. However, at the same time and on the same streamer, a forgotten action thriller starring both these Hollywood mainstays is also proving hugely popular.
At the time of writing, the 2010 thriller Faster is one of the ten most-streamed movies on Paramount+ in the U.S. The film joins a stacked line-up currently entertaining audiences on Paramount+, including two Tom Cruise flicks in the blockbuster hit Top Gun: Maverick and the true-crime movie American Made. Sadly, Faster didn’t impress critics upon arrival, earning just 41% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus reading, “It’s good to see Dwayne Johnson back in full-throttle action mode, but Faster doesn’t deliver enough of the high-octane thrills promised by its title.” A synopsis for Faster reads:
