A Beloved WWE Star Joins Jason Statham’s Action Sequel in New Image

Jason Statham’s new action sequel wrapped shooting just a few days ago, but the film just got another exciting update. Director Timo Tjahjanto has shared a new image from behind-the-scenes of production on The Beekeeper 2, showing the first look at WWE veteran Adam Copeland in the film. Copeland joined the cast at the same time as MCU icon Pom Klementieff, and Tjahjanto celebrated the wrap last week with a photo of him and Klementieff from behind the scenes as well. With Jeremy Irons also slated to return, Statham’s action sequel is shaping up to be more star-studded than the original.

Jason Statham’s action career spans over 20 years, so it’s tough to say what exactly his most beloved movie is. However, in this later stage of his career, few can rival The Beekeeper. First released early in 2024, The Beekeeper captured the hearts of fans everywhere, and the film also grossed four times its $40 million budget at the global box office. It earned 71% from critics and 92% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and with Statham willing to come back for another run as Adam Clay, it made the greenlighting of the sequel a no-brainer for Amazon.

Amazon has yet to announce an official release date for The Beekeeper 2, but it is expected to be released before the end of 2026. Statham has a few other movies coming in the meantime, though. Firstly, Shelter will be released at the end of January, and he’ll follow that with Mutiny in August. Both films will be released in theaters, and The Beekeeper 2 will likely follow them sometime after.

Is Jason Statham Going To Be in Fast X: Part 2?

While not officially confirmed, Jason Statham is expected to reprise his role as Deckard Shaw in Fast X: Part 2, which is currently in pre-production and planning to begin filming sometime next year. The film has overcome several hurdles in the last few months, including a troubling report that Universal Pictures was considering canceling the movie altogether if the budget wasn’t brought down by over $100 million. Vin Diesel has since posted on his personal Instagram that things have been worked out and Fast X: Part 2 lives, despite rumors to the contrary. Don’t expect to see the family anytime before 2027 or 2028, though.
