Farah Khan recently gave a refreshingly candid reason for branching out from conventional filmmaking into content creation on YouTube. But the YouTube switch isn’t just a casual side‑gig for Khan. In a recent appearance on the talk show Two Much with Kajol & Twinkle, she stated, “When my movie was not happening, I thought, ‘Let me do YouTube… also, I have 3 kids who go to university next year, and that’s bloody expensive.”
With over two decades in the film business, she’s leveraged her choreographic roots and directorial hits to build a diversified creative career. Before ruling the director’s chair, Farah made her mark as a choreographer — winning praise for songs like “Chaiyya Chaiyya” (1998) and “Dhol Bajne Laga” (1997) which became staples of Bollywood dance culture.
