Carlos Alcaraz names the two players who he considers to be his biggest rivals on tour

Carlos Alcaraz has named the players he thinks are his biggest rivals on the ATP Tour.

Over the last two years the Spaniard established himself as one of the game’s best players and one of the spearheads of a new era of tennis after the ‘Big 3’ of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz has already claimed four Grand Slam titles is the youngest World number one in the game’s history.

The 21-year-old is determined to finish his season on a high and hit the ground running in 2025 and establish himself as the dominant force song his peers.

Who did Carlos Alcaraz say are his biggest challengers on the ATP Tour?
In his short career so far, Carlos Alcaraz has contested some epic matches against the best players on the ATP Tour.

His electrifying game and impressive variety of shots make him an extremely difficult player to beat and push onto the back foot.

But perhaps the two players who have given Alcaraz more problems than any other on court are Djokovic and Jannik Sinner, who the Spaniard named as his biggest rivals.

“Well Djokovic is there but for me I think Jannik,” the reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion told Tennis Warehouse.

“We share the same generation and I hope to play against him for the next 10 to 15 years so right now it’s between those two.”

What are Carlos Alcaraz’s head-to-head records against Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner?
Alcaraz, Sinner and Djokovic occupy three of the top four spots in the ATP Tour rankings. It is easy to see why given the trio have won all the Grand Slam titles between them since the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.

The World number three’s head-to-head record with his rivals is tight. Alcaraz has contested nine matches against Sinner so far, and has claimed five wins. He claimed both of their contests this year at Indian Wells and the French Open respectively.

Alcaraz has played Djokovic on seven occasions, and the Serbian edged ahead in their rivalry by winning their latest contest at the Olympic Games gold medal match.

Djokovic outlasted Alcaraz 7-6, 7-6, to become Olympic champion for the first time in his illustrious career and beat his younger rival for the fourth time.
