Tennessee women’s golfer Madison Messimer picked up a pair of preseason honors by both Golfweek and Golf Channel, both organizations announced Friday.
Messimer, who at the time of signing was the No. 1 overall junior golfer in South Carolina, was slated to Golfweek’s Freshmen to Watch list and tabbed a Preseason All-Freshman Team selection by Golf Channel.
The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, native participated in the 2024 Junior Solheim Cup, and is just one of four Lady Vols in program history to do so.
Messimer posted a pair of top-five showings at both the 2024 U.S. Girls Junior Amateur and 2024 Girls Junior PGA Championship.
In 2023, she took home the Carolinas Junior Player of the Year award. At the time of signing, College Golf Commits (3rd), the AJGA (5th) and Junior Golf Scoreboard (6th) each rated her within the top 10 in the class of 2025.
Messimer and the rest of the Tennessee women’s golf team are set to tee off their season on Monday, Sept. 8 for the Cougar Classic in Charleston, SC.
