Harshitha Samarawickrama moves four spots up to 16th in ICC Women’s batter rankings

Harshitha, opening the batting, made light of the Irish attack in guiding Sri Lanka to a comprehensive win in their tour opener. Her great feat took the Lankan batter four places up to 16th in the ICC Women’s Batting Rankings. It was more the remarkable in that she made light of the absence of the team’s playmaker and skipper Chamari Athapaththu who is participating in the UK Hundred Competition.

Harshitha went on to crack 65 in top scoring for the Lankans in the second game which though Ireland won by by 7 runs running up 173 for 3 wickets on the ton up batting heroics of Gaby Lewis who struck a 75-ball 119. Sri Lanka finished on 166 for 7, but it did not stop Samarawickrama from raising her stocks at that level.
