Canada faced Oman in the 69th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two in Florida. Though Oman is 4th and Canada 5th, both teams are closely matched in the standings.
The two teams have secured nine wins from their matches, each accumulating 20 points. In addition, Oman has a higher net run rate of +0.037, while Canada trails closely with +0.028. Oman took the first strike at the crease and set a target of 217 runs in their allocated 50 overs. However, they had a slow start, managing only 25 runs in the first ten overs, with key batters Aamir Kaleem and Jatinder Singh falling cheaply.
The rest of the batters struggled to stabilize the innings following the dismissals of Macchi (12 runs) in the 11th over and Ali (8 runs) in the 22nd over. Hammad Mirza delivered an impressive knock, scoring 77 runs from 103 deliveries, which included three fours and two sixes. Vinayak Shukla was the last man out, dismissed by Dilon Heyliger after scoring just six runs.
Oman’s innings concluded with Canada’s bowlers claiming six wickets. Three bowlers stood out, each claiming two wickets, while the rest remained wicketless. Mohammad Nadeem anchored the innings with a solid 76, and along with Sufyan Mehmood, who contributed 20, the duo formed an unbeaten 66-run partnership for the last wicket, boosting Oman’s total.
