Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia have landed in legal trouble following the latest episode of India’s Got Latent. Amid the controversy, YouTube removed the episode, but the fallout continues as a police investigation is underway. Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani are also facing legal complications related to the same episode. Amidst the backlash, singer Mika Singh has stepped forward to defend popular artists like Diljit Dosanjh while calling for some control over the language used in such content.
In a video statement, Mika expressed concern over the kind of language comedians like Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija are using on public platforms. Addressing the issue, Mika stated in Hindi, “I have watched the episode featuring Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia. The level of profanity and inappropriate language was shocking. The audience might be enjoying it, and they surely have a fan base, but sometimes, such content reaches unintended viewers who may not appreciate it. There was even a female participant using abusive language. While it’s their show, there needs to be some regulation.”
Mika further clarified that his issue is not with the young comedians gaining popularity but with the well-established personalities who choose to be associated with such content. He questioned, “Why do reputed judges and singers agree to be part of such shows? Is it just for money? I have no issue with these young comedians, but someone needs to regulate the extent of their content.”
Mika Singh also highlighted what he sees as hypocrisy in the entertainment industry. He pointed out that while singers like him and Diljit Dosanjh receive backlash and legal notices over their song lyrics, similar scrutiny is not applied to comedians using explicit language.
“Mujhe gussa aata hai jab mera show hota hai ya Diljit Dosanjh ka show hota hai ya kisi bhi bade singer ka show hota hai, bohot saare desh ki raksha karne ke liye log aa jaate hai ki tum sharab pe gaana mat jao, public show pe yeh mat karo voh mat karo. Tum log ko yeh gadhe log nazar nahi aate? Tumhara farz nahi banta? Celebrities aur singers ko fat se notice bhej dete ho toh aap in gadhon ko rok nahi sakte? Itni bakwas kar rahe hai, itne time se bakwas kar rahe hai. Jab koi live concert ho raha hai, Diljit Dosanjh ka joh itna bada show kar raha hai. Muh uthake notice pe notice bhej dete ho, case thok dete ho. Kya aapko yeh log nazar nahi aate?’ he questioned, saying, “Aaj kal ke bacchon ko aasan lagta hai gaali dena. Inko bhejo notice.”
