Laporta claims Barça’s strength and celebrates the achievement of financial Fair Play

President Joan Laporta appeared today at a press conference, accompanied by members of the Board of Directors and executives of the Club, to assess the events of recent weeks. He stressed that FC Barcelona has achieved the Financial Fair Play and celebrated the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, a success that reinforces the institutional and sporting position of the Club.

Institutional strength and denial of criticism

Laporta stressed: “The facts demonstrate the strength of Barça” and took the opportunity to deny “the apocalyptic theories” that had been built around the management. With the achievement of financial Fair Play, the Club ceases to be supervised, a step forward that has been achieved thanks to the implementation of a rigorous strategic plan based on four pillars: increase revenues, reduce the salary mass while maintaining sports competitiveness, preserve the ownership model and achieve economic recovery without the members having to assume financial burdens.

Strategic agreements and structural management

The president has emphasized key agreements reached, such as the contract with Nike, which he described as “the best contract of a football club with a sportswear brand in history”. Relations between Barça and Nike had been tense, but thanks to successful mediation a positive result has been achieved for both parties. Laporta also highlighted the role of operations on VIP seats, which have been decisive in ensuring compliance with the 1:1 in the framework of financial fair play.

The defense of the club against external attacks

Laporta defended the work of the Club’s executives and workers, who have faced the challenges with “talent, knowledge, audacity and courage”. He also denounced: “When Barça begins to emerge, various powers try to build a negative narrative around the Club.” In this regard, he thanked the partners for their confidence in the face of attempts to discredit the management.

Inscriptions of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor

Regarding the registrations of the players Dani Olmo and Pablo Víctor, Laporta assured: “The Club complied with all the requirements of the regulations”. The President has also positively assessed the very precautionary measure granted by the Superior Council of Sports (CSD), which allowed registrations, avoiding irreparable harm to Barça.

Response to opposition and resistance of the team

Laporta has also responded to opposition groups that had called for his resignation and threatened a motion of censure. “They have had the opportunity to show that they loved Barça, but they have sided with those who were against the Club,” he said. Despite this context, he appreciated the enormous resistance of the team, which has maintained the performance and managed to win the Super Cup.
