Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya said in Parliament today (07), that she hopes to conduct a review of the partially completed schools under the “Nearest School is the Best School Project”.
“We are actually currently reviewing the selected schools under the project. Many of the schools selected for the project have stopped halfway through. Therefore, by reviewing all those schools, according to our plan, we are planning to develop a primary school where all children can go within the limit of 3 kilometers, and to develop a complete secondary school that can go to a number of such schools,” the Prime Minister said.
She also added that the government hopes to give priority to schools that have completed 80%-90% of the work.
