Jasprit Bumrah to enter record books, needs 6 wickets to become the first bowler to

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is on the verge of scripting a big record for India National Cricket Team going into the fifth and final Test against Australia, starting January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Bumrah has the opportunity of taking most wickets for the sub-continent team in a bilateral Test series. Leg-spinner BS Chandrasekhar picked up 35 wickets from five red-ball matches in England’s tour of India in 1972-73.

Bumrah, who has taken 30 wickets from four Tests so far, is six scalps away from breaking the record. The right-arm seamer needs two wickets to go past Bishan Singh Bedi’s record for most wickets for Team India in a bilateral Test series overseas.

If Bumrah adds three more wickets to his tally he will break Kapil Dev’s record for most wickets by an Indian speedster in a bilateral Test series. In 1979-80 against Pakistan, Kapil dismissed 32 batters in six Tests.
